Losing patience, losing sleep Losing sight of what matters to me Losing what I thought I’d become Losing the battles I’ve already won Stomach in knots Nowhere to go Who would believe that any of this is true? Maintain appearances Ignore the sweat Pretend the trail of blood doesn’t begin with you Sun burns too bright Pupils won’t adjust Connection lost, never repaired again Grasping at air Coming up short Reaching for what never existed When did the days become so endless? And when did the nights become a blur? I think I’ve known all along that something’s wrong So very wrong Stomach in knots Nowhere to go Who would believe that any of this is true? Maintain appearances Ignore the sweat Pretend the trail of blood doesn’t begin with you Sun burns too bright Pupils won’t adjust Connection lost, never repaired again Grasping at air Coming up short Reaching for what never existed

Step out into the snow and sink to your knees You’ve got a long way to go and it won’t be easy (It’s fucking freezing!) Follow this course to its end Cannot be plotted on a map No one there knows all the trouble you’ve seen Abandon all hope and forget all your friends This meaningless life, the means to your end Abandon this course and forget about them Step in out from the cold and off of the street Take your place in line with the liars and thieves Whatever you’ve brought, it isn’t enough Whatever you’ve got, it isn’t enough Whatever you thought, it isn’t enough What does that leave?

Andromeda IV 03:50
Crack open my skull Let’s see what tumbles out Split open my veins I’m sure there’s nothing left Rip my lungs out I won’t need ‘em anymore What am I breathing for? Where I’m going, I just don’t know and if I did I’m not sure I’d tell you Onward alone Exquisitely useless Just like a burning star I’m distant and dying Leave the flags at half-mast It’s always a fucking tragedy Caught in the downpour Drenched in misery Inescapable, these mind games, this antipathy Endless struggle Trying to break free On the edge of the precipice One more breath and I’ll be convinced Exhale into the mist and disappear from all of this Ceasing to exist Quietly screaming Searching for meaning Lost and defenseless Desperately restless
4.
Foot on my back Under attack! Tasting the pavement, face pressed to the ground Suddenly restrained Resistance met with violence, pacifism with pain They’ll mace your children, assault your family This is what we get for declaring our belief that racist police can’t murder with impunity I’ve seen the whites of their eyes first hand The gleeful desire for head-smashing sprees Enforcing inherent inequality That’s the law of the land I only ever get a minuscule taste compared to those who live it every day It’s hard to comprehend this mess that we’re still in People targeted and judged by the color of their skin NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE! Fuck racist police! Arrested for speech Vilified for taking to the street It’s hard to comprehend this mess that we’re still in People targeted and judged by the color of their skin We should all be treated equally I cannot believe the amount of grief inflicted by those who protect society Take away their guns, hold them to higher standards With real consequences, cops might learn some fucking manners
5.
Anthropocene 03:16
This adventure is getting perilous I think I’d like to turn back now Too late, too late! The decision was made Careening toward our fate Another damn disappointment Excuse me while I feign surprise Any hope of victory was the spark of my demise Smoldering embers Enough left to stoke the flames But with lack of oxygen Soon nothing will remain Dealt the cards, we’ve been played Live by their rules or die in the game Burn it down or attempt to stay? Can we hold for one more day? And will it even matter anyway? Too easy to retreat Embrace the laissez-faire Too proud to accept defeat but defenses are crumbling The fear sets in Envelops like warm death What would you say you wish you did with your last breath? Why does the world weigh so heavy on my mind, when I can hardly pick myself up off the ground? And I lay awake at night demanding answers from the silence that surrounds me They never come
6.
Waiting in the rain for trains that never come Don’t put your trust in revolutions They always come around again That’s why we call them revolutions The masses move on and nothing ever changes We live in absolutes We deal in lead, friends Bullies and brutes Enemies ‘til the end I can’t stand the quiet Don’t wanna be left alone with my own thoughts Prefer a roar to silence to drown out the constant ringing in my ears And all these years I thought we could make a difference, you and I Well, at least we tried! Time marches on but we left the streets Those battered grounds Concede defeat
7.
It must be very carefree to be so oblivious Not recognizing the bias or the privilege you receive Why is it so fucking hard to believe that others have it harder than you? In your mind, you have no enemies They’re only business opportunities High-rises tower over the bottom-feeders CEOs vs. community leaders Gentricubes replace homeless shelters Is this progress or is this erasure? What is happening to this city? At what point will it lose all identity? When no one can afford their own property And all that’s left is monopoly Make sure you shut the lights off and don’t forget to lock the door before you leave
8.
Tabula Rasa 01:54
When I gaze across the world, what do I see? Lost souls Broken families Leaving home for uncertainty Fleeing violence for opportunity Same old excuses unfold Borders divide and deny “Keep ‘em out, keep ‘em out, drive them out!” Xenophobic battle cries, “These job stealing freeloaders are nothing but a bunch of radical, religious terrorists” Let’s gain some perspective When one of us stumbles the rest of us fall It’s all a façade This notion of control We try to brace ourselves The supports won’t hold When does it end? In all my years there has yet to be a reprieve from violence and famine, corruption and greed We can find a way to co-exist What gives you the right to say where they can sleep out night? How do we hold together when the world tears itself apart? There’s too much ignorant bias and not enough heart It’s all a façade This notion of control We try to brace ourselves The supports won’t hold When does it end, these centuries of loss?
9.
Sick of the news The news makes me sick Mass violence should not be a daily event Another active shooter situation Another day in this American life Save your prayers, get off your knees How many more must needlessly die? At what point will they finally see that faked sympathies do us no good when death is used to justify more pain? At what point will we finally take action? Quit splitting ourselves into warring factions “What could a killer’s motivation be?” cry the people who spew hate “Surely guns and our rhetoric aren’t to blame!” Cling to your handguns, AK-47s cuz all good martyrs go to heaven - Enough!
10.
Our greed led us underground The belly of the beast We hammered on its insides and woke it from its sleep We lit pyres, fires that burned for centuries before (AN ENTRANCE TO THE UNDERWORLD WE SHOULDN’T HAVE EXPLORED) Growing tired of devouring their stores (HARNESSING ITS RICHES, WE’VE UNLEASHED SOMETHING WORSE) What won’t expire, lies ever smoldering, forever in repose Our greed led us underground and right to the fucking thing’s door! If you climb the burning mountain to find the gates of hell (Behold!) All that’s been abandoned, all that’s been destroyed (Behold!) Endless desolation Gaze into the void Behold the beast, forever in repose
11.
A foreign invader on a forgotten shore Are we destined for failure? Are they destined for more? And you can’t help thinking things were better off before... The bulb of percussion at this fracture in time The violent collisions of divergent lines A warning shot! A line in the sand Humble but they firmly stand against such righteous purpose, the progress of man The risk of discovery The gifts of disease The women and children’s unbearable screams Defending themselves, their homes and their dreams They will not bow to our kings and our queens An ancient civilization ripped apart at the seams WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? Don’t drift too close Curiosity betrays The sea will reclaim your shallow graves
12.
Passengers 03:25
Each hour lasts a lifetime (The years fly by) Is every moment a valuable treasure (or just a waste of time)? Part truth, part fiction The facsimile of the blur between this grey reality An illustration, this demonstration (A condemnation of this conflagration) I don’t recognize me You won’t recognize me This is my art and it is dangerous A rebellious act of defiance Forming multitudes from one Raised voices instead of guns Passion instead of hate Spontaneity instead of fate Am I screaming into the void, the great unknown? Can a single voice have meaning? Sometimes the light seeps in and I burn up like the sun These are the joyous moments, beautiful to behold Left wandering the desert and asking why But then I reach an oasis that saves my life Quench my thirst until it’s sated Seems like it’s never abated So I’m going somewhere I’m going nowhere I’m going somewhere I’m going nowhere! Can a single voice have meaning? Even if I had a choice, would I make a change at all? I’m going somewhere I’m going nowhere
