We heard the garbled transmitted reports
But the mushroom clouds were the final confirmation

No planet left
Claustrophobia setting in
Survival unlikely
I’ve eaten all the rations

Do I risk re-entry
Or perish in the dark?

Die slow or die like the others?
Can I pilot this thing alone?
Our mission was so simple
How did it come to this?

There’s no way we could have prepared for this situation
